Parables of the Qur’an course
(Sisters only)

إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحْيِي أَن يَضْرِبَ مَثَلًا مَّا بَعُوضَةً فَمَا فَوْقَهَا ۚ
“Indeed, Allah is not timid to present an example – that of a mosquito or what is smaller than it…” [2: 26]

Study the paragons and similitudes put forth by Allah in the Qur’an. This is a 4-week course based on Ibn al-Qayyim’s amazing work, ‘Al-Amthal fil-Qur’an’, where we will unearth some key parables and examples in the Qur’an, discover central themes and messages, imagery and metaphors, as well as particulars and beauties of language. Why is nature so central to the parables? Have you ever wondered if a parable contained further meaning than was apparent to you? How are they linked to a common Qur’anic concept? Delve into this eye-opening science and develop your understanding and contemplation of Qur’an.
