As-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatullah
Some selected statements from the book ‘هكذا علمتني الحياة’ (‘And that is what life has taught me’) by Dr. Mustafa al-Suba’i * :

‘Whoever truly knows his Lord will see the beauty of all things in life.’
‘The delight of the worshippers lies in munaja (du’a and beseeching Allah), the delight of the scholars lies in contemplation and thought, the delight of the generous ones lies in their goodwill, the delight of the muslihin (those who rectify things) lies in guidance, the delight of the wretched ones lies in controversy and dispute, the delight of the lowly and mean ones lies in harming others and the delight of the misguided ones lies in temptation and corruption.’
‘Decree (Qadha’ and Qadr) is the secret to Tawhid (belief in the Oneness of God), it’s that which makes knowledge apparent, and it is the safety valve on the universe while it runs its course.’
‘Iman (faith) grants us qualities which draw the people’s hearts to us: trustworthiness, truthfulness, love, and treating people well.’
‘He who believes in himself never lies, and he who respects himself never cheats.’
‘The believer is free even if he were to be shackled, and the disbeliever is a slave, even if banners and flags fluttered for him.’
‘From the signs that He (Allah) is pleased with you is that He seeks you before you seek Him, and He guides you before you search for Him.’

* This is a nice little book with just quotes, life lessons and thoughts from the author. All the quotes are extremely beneficial so insha’Allah, I’ll try to post up more.

It’s basically saying that when Allah `azza wa jall loves a person and wants good for him/her, he guides them to the khayr without them having made much effort in the first place. It’s a Blessing and Mercy from Allah upon His slaves… Wallahu a’lam.
