As-salamu `alaykum wa rahmatullah

For many of you internet users, this may not be news to you but judging by the apparent numbers, this news hasn’t reached the majority of Muslims in the UK.

The case of Babar Ahmad has been ongoing for 8 years now. He is the longest detained-without-trial prisoner in the UK, and the community is trying to stop his extradition to the US where he faces life in a supermax prison. UK courts do not want him on criminal charges, rather it is the USA who wants to extradite him to their soil and try him under their system. Currently the European High Court has halted his extradition as there are fears his imprisonment and solitary confinement in US Supermax prisons may amount to torture (please see video below for more info).

NOW… All we need is 100,000 signatures. All we are asking for is 100,000 signatures on a petition in order for his case to be debated in UK Parliament and for him to be put on trial in the UK and not the US. Please let’s all do our bit and sign the petition; it takes no more than 20 seconds.
