The Word of Allaah has already gone forth…
Promises may be broken, locked up we may be and indeed the Ummah may be surrounded from all sides, but the Word of Allaah has already gone forth.
One by one our scholars may be silenced, our children muted and our Islamic heritage eliminated, but the Word of Allaah has already gone forth.
The Ahzaab may reform, treachery may reappear and the mountains may shake but the Word of Allaah has already gone forth.
__
Certainty is something that this Ummah will never lose and can never lose. It is inseparable from our Imaan to the extent that the scholars, when defining the Shahaadah (testimony) listed it to be from its prime conditions. As we look around the world today, we are in great need of our yaqeen – our conviction and certainty in the fact that the Word of Allaah has already gone forth:
“And verily our Word has gone forth to our slaves, the Messengers
That they verily, will be triumphant
And that our hosts (the believers)! They indeed, will be victorious.”
[As-Saaffaat: 171-173]
When the tartars approached the Muslims in Damascus, the public went into mass panic and fear. But amongst them was the great scholar and mujaahid Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah) who returned the courage to the people and the central army by saying, “Allaah will grant us victory!” The generals asked him to say ‘Insha-Allaah’ for fear that this statement could fall short, but Ibn Taymiyyah replied back, “I say it in certainty and not in mere hope!”
As believers in Allaah we have to possess that certainty and conviction held by our pious predecessors and the righteous that followed them. We see that some of them would be overtaken by petrifying circumstances and many times they would be up against the worst, but this neither shook their Imaan in Allaah nor their yaqeen in His Nasr (Help). Our eyes and ears may tell us one thing, but our yaqeen will always direct us to the true reality of affairs and the direction in which they are ultimately headed.
“And that our hosts (the believers)!
They indeed, will be victorious.”
The Command of Allaah has already preceded and there is not a matter except that it is bound by the Sunan of Allaah. And likewise, Allaah has made it a Sunnah of His that His Jund -the true believers- will continue to be aided and be victorious until the end of time. Nations rise and fall as a result of this firmly established principle of Allaah, which we fail to take lessons from time and time again.
The final outcome will always be for the Deen of Allaah, and none are given to inherit the earth except the righteous, believing servants of Allaah.
“Allaah has decreed: Verily, it is I and My Messengers who shall be the victorious”
[Al-Mujaadilah: 21]
And never can there be a change in the Sunnah of Allaah. We ask Allaah to give us yaqeen and thabaat (firmness).

BaarakAllaahu feeki ukhti – ameen to the du'aa.
Hey isn't someone's comment missing? I always thought that 'where there's a liya there's an isha' 😀
Assalamu 3alaikum,
Jazaaka Allahu kahiran for this post. This deen will be victorious in the end because Allah promised that it will be so. A believer’s full conviction in this should ease his/her stress and help him/her to endure hardships. So in a sense, it is a glad tiding from Allah, and reminder for the believer in hard times to remain steadfast as “victory is near”.
Sadly, however, some muslims take this promise as a justification to remain idle. They say: “Allah will grant us victory in the end anyways …”, and they just wait for that victory without working for it. Allah has sert down certain Sunan (certain cosmic rules that don’t change), and among them is that whatever brings benefit remains, and that which doesn’t bring any benefit will be discarded and replaced:
“He sends down water (rain) from the sky, and the valleys flow according to their measure, but the flood bears away the foam that mounts up to the surface, and (also) from that (ore) which they heat in the fire in order to make ornaments or utensils, rises a foam like unto it, thus does Allah (by parables) show forth truth and falsehood. Then, as for the foam it passes away as scum upon the banks, while that which is for the good of mankind remains in the earth. Thus Allah sets forth parables (for the truth and falsehood, i.e. Belief and disbelief).” [Al-Ra`d:17]
Allah mentions also that if we don’t work for this Deen and strive to attain victory, we will be replaced (and punished) by people who are not like us – by people who will strive toward Allah’s cause, and benefit mankind.
“If you march not forth, He will punish you with a painful torment and will replace you by another people, and you cannot harm Him at all, and Allah is Able to do all things. ” [Al-Tawbah:39]
After the Opening of Makkah, those Muslims who chose to remain in Makkah and did not perform Hijrah (emigration) to Madinah regreted missing out on that chance. They didn’t have a firm conviction that victory would be granted, and after it was granted, they wished that they could have sacrificed all that they possessed for the sake of Allah. They wished they had taken the chance to make Hijrah, but it was too late for them. The door for Hijrah was closed after the opening of Makkah, and they lost out on that reward.
Nowadays, the situation is different: this Ummah is in a state of revival, and it is not too late to strive and sacrifice for Allah’s sake. Allah has promised to grant victory to Islam, and there is no doubt that we will see this revival which will spread Islam to all parts of the globe. Be sure of that! But also know that this revival/victory is coming and won’t wait for you. It’s kinda like a train: it’s heading towards its destination, and it will reach it without a doubt! You can either ride the train to its destination and enjoy that ride, or you can watch the train reach its destination from afar and miss out. The choice is yours …
Please keep me in your du’a.
Assalaamu 3alaikum.
Wa ‘alaikumusalaam wa rahmatullaah
Wa iyyaakum
Na’am, akh billo unfortunately some people do miss the whole point of why Allaah gives us news of near victory. Where it’s supposed to encourage people to continue and be patient (despite the odds), some people take it the wrong way and become idle as you said.
Well explained with your train analogy, baarakAllahu feek.
I came across different people from whom I sensed a sort of despair, which is what lead me to write the above article. Sometimes it’s hard for people to see light at the end of the tunnel and it’s at these times that we kinda need to be reminded of the reality of the outcome and put things into real perspective.
Alhamdulillaah there are numerous ayaat and ahadeeth to help us do just that.
JazaakAllaahu khayran for your input.
as salamo alaikum warahmatulahi wabarakatuh…
