فقد كان يكثر من امساك العصا والاستعان بها, وهو ليس بضعيف. فقيل له في ذلك فقال: لأذكر أني مسافر
Imaam Ash-Shaafi’ee always used to walk around with a stick and leaned on it much although he was not weak
When asked about it he said
So that I may remember that I am only a traveller… i.e. travelling from this world to the Hereafter
