Selections from the Diwan of Imam al-Shafi’i
(Sisters only)
In this 6-week course, we will travel through the esteemed and renowned book of poetry (al-Diwan) of Imam al-Shafi’i, taking one poem from every chapter insha’Allah. Although known for his expertise in Fiqh (Jurisprudence) and Usul, Imam al-Shafi’i was also a legend in the Arabic language, literature, and poetry. We will insha’Allah study poetry covering a number of themes, from life lessons to Islamic advice and reminders, unearthing wisdoms and Arabic gems as we traverse across this amazing collection. A true literature-lover’s dream.

Please note: There are no pre-requisites for this course and although we will cover the Arabic poems, the actual course will be taught in English insha’Allah.
