‘I is for Ithar’ is a collection of fictional short stories and poems at times told in a fable-like manner. Ithar is an Arabic word which means to prefer something over oneself for the greater good – an act of selflessness. It comes from the root word ‘athar’ which also means to leave a footprint or trace.It’s my hope that the tales and stories written here inspire us to cultivate the selflessness that lives within us, and we leave a mark in this world for time to come.
